V-Belt Drives

V-Belt Drives

Compact, narrow-wedge Ultra-V® Drives, which are available in 3V, 5V and 8V belt sections, provide improved performance and permit high speeds. Ultra-V delivers the same horsepower as conventional V-Drives in much less space and with far less weight. Most belts are high capacity with raw edge construction.

Classical V-Drives are available in a wide range of sizes and in A, B, C or D belt sections. Classical belts have an ORS construction with cogged belts having greater flexibility and capacity.

Light duty FHP V-Drives offer capacities up to 15 HP and are available in two sections: "A" sheaves accommodate A (4L) belts, while our "B" sheaves are made for A (4L) or B (5L) belts. When you need an economical, efficient and lightweight sheave, look no further than Wood's FHP drives.

All of Wood's sheaves are close-grained, high-tensile cast iron and provide safe, vibration-free operation at speeds up to 6500 rpm (ductile iron to 10,000 fpm). Sheaves are equipped with Sure-Grip® QD tapered bushings.

Synchronous Belt Drives

Synchronous Belt Drives

Wood's synchronous drives combine the best of both chain and belt drives. They provide positive power transmission and accurate speeds, yet require no lubrication and a minimum of maintenance. Load capacities scale up to 1200 HP at 1750 rpm. They offer high efficiency and are lightweight and compact.

Offering all the features of timing belts, Wood's RPP-Plus and QT Power ChainTM drives are perfect for many high-torque, low-speed applications that formerly required roller chain. Wood's sprockets and timing pulleys have precision-machined, axial grooves for positive engagement with the belt teeth. Most use Sure-Grip bushings. Wood's stock RPP-Plus, QT Power Chain and timing belts have enormous tensile strength, excellent flex life, and resistance to elongation and wear.

Wood's QT Power Chain drives, available in 8 mm and 14 mm pitches, transmit substantially more horsepower per inch of belt width. To reduce the number of bored-to-size sprockets, many QT Power Chain sprockets include Wood's patented flangeless L bushing.

Our latest synchronous drive offers the added flexibility of a dual sprocket design that features metric and standard-tapped holes coupled with a high-capacity RPP-Plus belt. As a result, the RPP-Plus drive offers a significantly higher horsepower rating at the standard industry price.

Flexible Couplings

With several lines of high-performance couplings, TB Wood's offers a solution for any coupling application. Wood's lines of Elastomeric, Disc and Gear couplings offer our world-renowned reliability and flexibility.

Sure-Flex Couplings

Sure-Flex® Couplings

Wood's Sure-Flex couplings use a rubber (EPDM), neoprene, or Hytrel sleeve and have exceptional torsional flexibility. Their 4-way flexing action absorbs virtually all types of shock, vibration, misalignment, and end float.

With Sure-Flex couplings, the need for lubrication or maintenance is eliminated. As a result, Sure-Flex couplings provide clean, dependable and quiet performance.

Dura-Flex Couplings

Dura-Flex® Couplings

Wood's Dura-Flex couplings are built with durability in mind, and are designed for extreme conditions. These high-performance couplings enjoy maximum flex life and are ideal for use with variable speed and variable torque applications.

Jaw Couplings

Jaw Couplings

Wood's Jaw couplings are designed to meet high-quality standards while remaining affordable. Wood's offers two Jaw-type elastomeric couplings: a straight L-Jaw coupling available with four insert materials and a straight C-Jaw coupling designed for high torque loads. Both are 100% interchangeable with industry-standard designs.

HD Elastomeric Couplings

HD Elastomeric Couplings

Wood's HD Elastomeric couplings offer high tolerance to misalignment and control shock loads. A proven design uses resilient urethane and cylindrical rolling elements that transmit torque without applying misalignment forces to either shaft. These couplings are a low-cost, high-performance solution for light or heavy loads.
